Deep Fishing on Toledo

This weekend we fished the Skeeter Bass Champs tournament out of Cypress Bend. We had a rough start to our day as our schools of fish we located the previous weekend were hard to find, but we fished the areas and managed a few small keepers to put in the livewell. Halfway through the day we found new deep areas to work, we managed to catch 2 four pound fish back to back on an 8XD crankbait. We also had a lot of fish come on the PooDoo Craw rigged on a 3/4oz Strike King Structure head. At the end of the day we were able to cull all our small fish out Carolina rigging Green Pumpkin Batons, working them extremely slow. Our biggest fish was a 6.5lb hammer! The fish were hanging between 15-18ft of water. We finished the day with 18.85lbs which was good enough for 19th place and made a little cash! Overall another good day on Toledo Bend, and sticking it out to finish strong!
